Jade Team Profile Website

As a geologist by training, I worked for several years in the environmental sector, particularly in project management and fieldwork. I have also always maintained a connection to the agricultural world and alpine pastures, especially through my experience as an alpine herder and cheesemaker while I was in school, as well as through my work maintaining mountain landscapes and infrastructure. I enjoy understanding the various factors that shape our mountain regions and the challenges they face. It was this interest that led me to pursue a degree in Mountain Region Management at HAFL in Zollikofen. This program allowed me to broaden my knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the connections between agriculture, the environment, the region, and society.

My assets for OPPAL

I believe I can bring a diverse—but above all, practical—set of skills to OPPAL. I am a curious, versatile, and independent person, and I particularly enjoy working outdoors and fieldwork. I spend a lot of time in the Alps, both for work and, above all, for pleasure. I also enjoy interacting with animals and with the people who live and work in the mountains. I hope to put my experience, curiosity, and enthusiasm to work for OPPAL.

Why OPPAL?

It was in this context that I had the opportunity to join OPPAL and take charge of the mountain pastures in Upper Valais, in a region close to where I live. I am particularly interested in the issue of coexistence between wolves, livestock, and human activities, as it touches on agriculture, land management, and the realities on the ground.

I also chose to join OPPAL because I enjoy exploring new fields, meeting people with different backgrounds, and gaining a better understanding of the challenges facing mountain regions. I believe it’s important to take an interest in the various aspects of our environment in order to gain a more comprehensive and nuanced view of these areas.
